It’s a difficult thing to bet on major sporting events. It’s so hard to tell who’s fit and who isn’t. Who just had a kid. Who might be doped up to their eyeballs on performance enhancing drugs. Etc etc etc…
This year’s Vancouver Winter Olympic Games will feature some of the world’s best athletes. And some of the world’s best punters will be right alongside trying to make a buck off everything to do with the competition. I hear there’s actually big money on who will light the cauldron even.
Best Best at the 2010 Olympics:
1. Men’s Moguls – Dale Begg-Smith
The man is a freak. And thank goodness he quit the Canadian roster and signed up with the Australians. Only goes to show, you don’t need snow to win Winter Olympic Medals. Just look at Stephen Bradbury.
2. Men’s Slalom – Beni Reich
Another Crazy Person on Skis. He’s fluid and dynamic and possibly unbeatable in the Blue Ribbon event on the Men’s alpine calendar.
3. Women’s Ski Jumping
Yes, a cheap shot perhaps, but you can probably still get money down on whether or not they’ll even be there.
4. Men’s Hockey – Sweden
Canada are posers. They won’t go close. Bet on ANY team with Henrik Zetterberg in the Lineup.
Those are my bets this year. Here’s looking forward to a great 2010 Winter Games!!
