Read Full Verion Here: Vietnamese Horoscope – How It Works And What It Can Mean For You! · 2010 Calendar In

The Vietnamese horoscope is something not many people are aware of- when we think about Asian horoscopes, we usually only consider the Chinese horoscope. But the Vietnamese Zodiac is also a powerful and interesting way of reading the future. It has been practiced for centuries and makes use of lunar calculations to predict auspicious days and events.

Following The Moon

The Vietnamese Tu Vi, or Horoscope is created on the basis of the phases of the moon. As a result, the Vietnamese New Year changes from year to year. The European seasons are usually marked by solstices and equinoxes but these are taken as the midpoints in the Vietnamese calendar. Because of this, the Vietnamese seasons usually begin about 6 weeks before their European counterparts. Like the Chinese horoscope, each year is characterized by a certain animal.

There are twelve animals in the Vietnamese horoscope – the first animal is the rat and the last one is the pig. The animals shift in rotation every 12 years and can be divided into different groups. There is one mythical creature, which is the dragon. There are also four wild animals which shun human contact- they are the rat, snake, monkey and tiger. The rest of the animals are all domesticated. Apart from these animal symbols, the Vietnamese horoscope also runs a 60 year cycle based on the twelve animals as well as ten heavenly signs called stems. Each stem when attached to a different animal will cause a slight variation in the signs and its characteristics. Each animal also has a specific time of day that suits it best.

Finding Your Sign

The very first sign is that of the Rat- it covers the years of 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008 and 2020. In general, these years are seen to be chaotic ones. People born in these years are said to be attractive to the opposite sex, charming, active and dynamic. However, they are also sensitive to light and noise and can be very fussy. They are most active at midnight and also signal a time of prosperity, since the presence of rats means there is also lots of food nearby. Its time is between 11pm and 1 am. The hours from 1 am to 3 am are known as the Ox hours. The Ox years are 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009 and 2021. The Ox symbolizes industriousness and patience- people born in these years are known for their hard work and steady strength. The Ox is also associated with spring and agriculture. People born in the years of the Ox can be very stubborn if they are crossed.

The next animal is the Tiger and their time is from 3 am to 5 am- it governs the years 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010 and 2022. This is the most aggressive of all the signs- while these people can be flexible, they are also quick to lose their temper. The Tiger is generally associated with dark and stormy weather. The years of the Cat are 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011 and 2023 and they govern the hours from 5 am to 7 am. Cats are smooth talkers and they are also patient- they will wait for the right opportunity before they pounce! They are also ambitious and very talented. People born under the Cat will be in constant conflict with those born under the Rat.

The hours of 7 am to 9 am are dedicated to the Dragon- it is seen as the only sacred symbol in the zodiac and rules the years of 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012 and 2024. People born under this sign can be very energetic and sincere- however they can also be stubborn and they can easily lose their temper. While they are symbols of individual prosperity and power, years of the dragon are often characterized by famine. The next symbol is the Snake- it governs the hours of 9 am to 11 am and the years of 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013 and 2025. These people are known to be very wise but they speak very little. While they can be calm and profound at times, they also have the ability to be cruel, dangerous and short-tempered.

The years of 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014 and 2026 and the hours 11 am to 1 pm are ruled by the Horse. These people are pure, noble and wise and have the added asset of alertness and strength. This sign is generally considered to be the most beautiful in the whole zodiac- on the downside, these people don’t listen to advice and can be quick-tempered. The next animal is the Goat, ruling the years of 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003, 2015 and 2027 and the hours of 1 pm to 3 pm. Shy and compassionate, these people are also unassertive and can be very clumsy in their speech and communicative skills. They are often taken advantage of. The hours of 3 pm to 5 pm are for the Monkey. This animal is associated with the years 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004, 2016 and 2028 and is curious, clever but inconsistent. The next sign is that of the only bird, the Rooster- it governs the years of 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005, 2017 and 2029 and the hours of 5 pm to 7pm. People born under this sign are seen to be hard workers, intelligent with a literary bend of mind.

The second last symbol is the Dog – it governs the years of 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, 2018 and 2030 and the hours of 7 pm to 9 pm. These people are secure and loyal- the sign itself portends future prosperity. The final sign is the Pig- its hours are 9 pm to 11 pm and the years 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007, 2019 and 2031. These people can be honest, gallant and courageous- however they can also be short tempered, headstrong and very impulsive.

How To Schedule Your Homeschooling Day, And Have Time To Spare
When creating a homeschooling schedule, areas of instruction, student age, and family schedule should all be taken into consideration. These three things should be integrated to come up with a schedule that will benefit children and adults alike. There is no need, however, to redesign the wheel. Use tools available to you to come up with a schedule that meets your needs.

The first step in creating a homeschooling schedule is to develop a mission statement. Take a few hours to sit down, write and rewrite a statement of purpose for your homeschool. Consider these questions: what do you want your children to learn? What can you provide through homeschooling that your child cannot get through a regular education setting? What traits do you want to promote in your child? Writing a mission statement will guide your instruction and scheduling choices.

Once you have a mission statement, it is time to do some research. Collect information on the topics you plan to teach, and the developmental level of your child. The internet is a valuable tool for this type of research. To make things easier, you may want to refer to the teaching standards laid out by your state for the appropriate grade level. They have done the research for you. Use these standards compared to your mission statement to add and delete topics that you would like to be a part of your curriculum. For example, if religion is something you feel strongly about, you might add that topic of study to your states standards. Or you might incorporate it into already existing standards such as, teaching about people who have made a difference, or use religious works as part of a cultural study or reading material.

With a mission statement and instructional content, you can now begin to schedule your instructional week. With a weekly calendar in front of you, first set down meal, snack and nap times appropriate for your child and/family. Next add in regular necessary family activities, such as weekly trips to the grocery store, sports practice, or church commitments. Keep in mind that these activities can be tied into current studies and become part of the learning environment. Decide how many hours a day you wish to devote to instruction, and what time is reasonable to begin each day. Finally divide the time between subjects. It is generally accepted that at least 2-2 ½ hours a day should be devoted to language arts (reading, writing, grammar, spelling, listening and speaking). Another hour should be spent focusing on math. The rest of your time should be divided among your other areas of study. Some people prefer to hit every subject for a short time every day, but most hit each area of study for a longer period only once a week. For example, Monday – science, Tuesday – social study, Wednesday – religious studies, Thursday – art and music, Friday – community service.

The last key piece in your homeschool schedule is physical activity. While some choose to treat this as any other content area, and designate an hour or two each week to play sports, we highly recommend that you take time each day to address it. Incorporating short spurts of physical activity into breaks throughout the day will reenergize students and allow them to focus more on their studies. Additionally, spending 30 minutes of focused physical activity with your child each day will model and promote healthy behavior that will last a life time.

Ancient Mayan Religion
Mayan history narrates the rich civilization of the Mayans who lived in southern Mexico and northern Central America around 3,000 years ago. It was a colorful and rich culture, before Mexico and the nearby regions were conquered by Spain. The Mayan civilization is one of the prominent civilizations of Mesoamerica and it was established around 2600 BC in Yucatan. Southern Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Northern Belize and the western region of Honduras belonged to the Mayan empire during the 3rd century AD.

Ancient Mayan Religion

The Mayan tribes have left behind a grand and awe-inspiring culture and traditions. The Mayan culture supported religion and the Mayan tribes worshiped nature gods such as God of Rain, God of Sun and God of Corn. The Mayans gave importance to astronomy and astrology. Human sacrifice was a part of the ancient Mayan religion.

The Mayan temples followed the architectural style of step pyramids. The religious writings of the Mayan culture included “hieroglyphic writing, art and literature and architecture”.

A class of people called “Mayan Priests” performed the rituals of the Mayan temples. The followers of the Mayan religion believed in a relationship between human beings and supernatural beings. Mayan priests carried out the human sacrifice. The chief priest held down the victim, while another priest cut his heart. The chief priest was known as “Ah Kin Mai”.

Ancient Mayan religion gave importance to agriculture and the timeliness of harvests. The religious calendar of the Mayan culture was called as “tzolkin” and it comprised only 260 days and two cycles. These cycles consisted of 20 days and 30 days week. “Tun”, another Mayan calendar, comprised 360 days. “Katun” was a calendar derived from “tun” and the total number of days in this calendar was 20 times that of the “tun” calendar.

As per the beliefs of Mayan religion, agricultural produce was the gift of god; hence they paid great attention to the cycles of rain and harvest. The Mayans appeased their gods with the human blood collected from the human sacrifice. During the festival time, the Mayans organized music, dances and prayers to please the Mayan gods.

Mayan pyramids were constructed for religious and burial purposes. There are Mayan temples for the moon and the sun. A few popular temples are Chichen Itza, Temples of Tikal, Temple of Inscription. Mayan cosmology and myth creation reveal a great deal about the beginning of Mayan civilization, their beliefs and traditions.

The Mayan religion also includes the Mayan architecture. The most dramatic and easily recognizable Maya architectural style is the stepped pyramid with a temple at the top. There are also cave sites like the Jolja, Naj Tunich, Candelaria and Witch that speak volumes about Mayan architecture. Every fifty-two years, the temples and pyramids were remodeled and rebuilt.

The art works that were the integral part of ancient religion is not only sophisticated but also beautiful. Maya art that survived include funerary pottery, ceramic work and murals that survived by serendipity. The Maya blue, a beautiful turquoise blue color was associated with the Mayan art and has survived through the centuries.

Read Full Verion Here: Creative Ways To Design Your Calendar To Market Your Restaurant · 2010 Calendar In

One of the businesses that can benefit from calendar printing as a marketing strategy is the restaurant. It’s not only effective and one of the most cost effective strategies, but print calendars are also amazing ways to get the word out about your restaurant the whole year round.

Just think about it. You can have your target clients staring at your print calendars every day and every month to remind them of their own special dates and occasions. Just imagine how they will be able to recognize your business if they happen to see it every time they check your calendar for their schedule.

But the effectiveness of your calendar printing lies on the design you have. What you have that is unique and eye-catching can grab the attention of your target clients. Your design in your print calendars will serve as the hook to keep your patrons of your restaurant coming back to taste your food.

Photos and images of foods and drinks are very common for promoting restaurants. But to offer something unique, why not try using the different specialties you have in your menu. A sort of “specialty of the house” featured in every month will definitely remind your patrons why they go to your restaurant each time.

To help you design your calendar, here are suggestions to keep your patrons coming back for more of your food:

Provide photos and pictures of your specialties in delectable images. Choose a main dish for each month and highlight it with succulent description that would definitely make any mouth water just by looking at it. Hire a professional photographer to provide you with a delicious and tempting picture. It may cost you more to hire one but it would definitely be worth the expense when you see how mouth-watering your pictures are in your calendar.

If your restaurant offers fresh ingredients, use them as your main images in your design. Emphasize each ingredient with photos in each month. Use pictures of delicious-looking meat, fruits and vegetables. Focus on how the freshest ingredients can benefit your patrons as well as the difference these ingredients can make on the palate. By enticing your target clients to see how fresh your ingredients are, you can make them want to go to your restaurant every time.

Create a concept featuring your own vegetable haven in your restaurant. Include pictures of ripe tomatoes, basil, rosemary, and other spices you have in your kitchen. Include a photo of your chef using these special herbs and spices while preparing the special dishes you have. By letting your target clients have a peek in your kitchen, you can provide them with an image of how good it is to dine in your restaurant.

These are just some of the ways you can promote your restaurant in your print calendars. You can create your own ideas and start designing your calendar printing today.

The silly season is nearly upon us. And if you want to have a head start in 2010 then now is the time to really strengthen your focus one more time before going into party mode. There are a number of things you can do NOW to set yourself up for a head start in 2010. And they’re all about planning ahead.

Most Solo-entrepreneurs take the ‘fly by the seat of your pants’ approach when it comes to their marketing calendar (I know I used to be one of them). But to really take advantage of opportunities you want to be clear of exactly how you want the year to unfold and what needs to happen to create the success you want.

Here are the things in order of priority that you may want to start thinking about NOW:

1. Lay out all your offers for 2010

If you really want to be super successful next year, then stop flying by the seat of your pants and start planning at least 12 months ahead. Be sure to put all program launch dates in your diary right now (don’t forget to also put your holidays in there). this will mean once the new year comes around all you need to do is execute. That’s where you want to be.

2. Determine all your List-building activities

How are you going to widen your Circle of Influence? Start looking for Joint-Venture Partners now that help you get your message out to the right people and plenty of them. What speaking engagements would you like to secure? Get clear about what strategic relationships you want to create next year and start planning for it now. What networking functions (or christmas parties) should you attend to help meet the right people who can help you/and that you can help in return?

3. Decide what to delegate and outsource

It’s important to secure help in advance. If you want to get big things done next year, you will need help. You cannot build an empire alone. Start looking for team members you might like to work with and have preliminary discussions with them now. It’s not easy selecting the right people once you are in the thick of it.

And not having them on board in time will slow you down. So make these decisions now.

4. Find out where your skills gaps are

Do you know what technical skills you need to get the ’show on the road’? What about your Marketing Know-how? Are you clear about how to package the value you offer? How to run a launch campaign for your programs that will actually work (instead of the old hope and pray method once the sales page is up?).

How to structure the webpage, how to increase your database etc.

Naturally I practice what I preach and I am launching a program that will answer all the how-to questions for you at an investment so reasonable, it will blow you away!

It’s a difficult thing to bet on major sporting events. It’s so hard to tell who’s fit and who isn’t. Who just had a kid. Who might be doped up to their eyeballs on performance enhancing drugs. Etc etc etc…

This year’s Vancouver Winter Olympic Games will feature some of the world’s best athletes. And some of the world’s best punters will be right alongside trying to make a buck off everything to do with the competition. I hear there’s actually big money on who will light the cauldron even.

Best Best at the 2010 Olympics:

1. Men’s Moguls – Dale Begg-Smith

The man is a freak. And thank goodness he quit the Canadian roster and signed up with the Australians. Only goes to show, you don’t need snow to win Winter Olympic Medals. Just look at Stephen Bradbury.

2. Men’s Slalom – Beni Reich

Another Crazy Person on Skis. He’s fluid and dynamic and possibly unbeatable in the Blue Ribbon event on the Men’s alpine calendar.

3. Women’s Ski Jumping

Yes, a cheap shot perhaps, but you can probably still get money down on whether or not they’ll even be there.

4. Men’s Hockey – Sweden

Canada are posers. They won’t go close. Bet on ANY team with Henrik Zetterberg in the Lineup.

Those are my bets this year. Here’s looking forward to a great 2010 Winter Games!!

Everyone’s talking this one up and for good reason. We have the undefeated Saints in their rowdy Louisiana Superdome on Monday Night Football. The Saints have the NFC’s best offense and the Patriots lead the AFC in scoring. Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Randy Moss – what more could you want?

Saturday, December 19: DALLAS COWBOYS @ NEW ORLEANS SAINTS

It’s already a treat to make NFL picks for a Saturday game, so the fact that we see two contending teams clash is gravy here. Aside from New England, the Cowboys probably pose the greatest threat to the Saints’ undefeated season. Tony Romo will have to shake his history of December woes to make this a game but I like his chances to do so indoors.

Sunday, December 20: GREEN BAY PACKERS @ PITTSBURGH STEELERS

Here’s a matchup we don’t get to see enough in online betting, don’t you think? Two storied teams with gritty, smashmouth team personas going head to head. We get to see two of the game’s top defenses challenge two of the game’s top quarterbacks in Aaron Rodgers and Ben Roethlisberger.

Sunday, December 27: BALTIMORE RAVENS @ PITTSBURGH STEELERS

We have to have at least one key divisional matchup on this list and there’s perhaps none bigger than this Week 16 tilt. The Ravens and Steelers have slipped behind the Cincinnati Bengals for now and could very well be battling for the final AFC Wildcard berth come Dec. 27. This is a big game.

Sunday, January 3, 2010: NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS @ HOUSTON TEXANS

This pick probably comes as a shocker, especially when Week 17 includes Giants/Vikings, Eagles/Cowboys and possible bids for perfect seasons from Indy and New Orleans. However, the Patriots and Texans could offer something else – the biggest game in a young franchise’s history. If the Houston Texans make the playoffs, it’ll be by the skin of their teeth; they’ll probably find themselves in a “win to get in” situation on the last day of the season. Hosting the powerful Patriots, the Texans could give fans and sportsbook bettors a real thriller as they push to finally reach the postseason.

Copyright (c) 2010 Audrey Burton

Have you tried over and over to keep to a daily schedule, but just can’t do it? There is a good reason for that! An entrepreneur’s life does not usually allow it.

When you have a very small business, or a microbusiness, you are often responsible for many tasks.

1. You are the Communications Officer, meaning you answer the phone and you answer all the emails.
2. You are often also the bookkeeper, so you must keep track of every dollar that comes in and goes out.
3. You also make all the decisions on the budget, so you are the Finance Manager.
4. Do not forget that you are also in charge of all technology, so that makes you the CIO – Chief Information Officer.
5. One of your biggest responsibilities is being the V.P. of Marketing. Not only do you have to decide which strategies to use, but you have to learn how to do them all AND figure out which are the best strategies for you and your business goals. And then you have to execute them – often all by yourself!
6. Oh yes – let’s not forget that you are also the Operations Manager and Customer Service Manager – in charge of fully servicing your clients.

These responsibilities do not fit nicely into a schedule. Your clients may need you at all different times. You will get urgent emails when you scheduled times to make phone calls, and you will get urgent phone calls when you scheduled time to work on email.

And you will get a ton of email that cries out for your attention all the time.

If you really like schedules, or if you just feel like having one is very helpful, I can offer some suggestions. Good and consistant planning is the key.

First, you must have a comprehensive, written action plan. This plan needs to include your goals, naturally, but also how you plan to achieve them along with specific actions. This must include quantities and timing/deadlines.

For example: Close 1 sale per week for at least $2,000 (goal)
Action step: Set 5 sales meeting appointments per week and close at least 1 sale; Call at least 40 leads per week to get at least 5 sales meeting appointments per week.

Next, set time aside weekly for planning. At the end of your workweek, Friday afternoons for most people, set aside about 20 minutes for planning and analysis. Take out your plan and your calendar and evaluate how your week was. Did you make your calls? Did you set appointments? Did you close sales? What else did you do well or not so well? What do you need to do next week?

After doing this quick analysis, write into your calendar for the next week exactly what you need to do. Around any appointments that are already set, block out some time for making your calls and make sure you have recorded all client and networking meetings.

This may be all you need, but many people have more complicated businesses and lives for this to work consistantly. If you are a wedding planner or real estate agent, for example, you very likely work nights and weekends. My biggest worry for you is that you work 7 days per week. Not only is this not healthy – you need at least one day off per week – but it actually leads to more disorganization.

Then there are parents. If you have children at home, especially if you are a single or only parent, sometimes your children will need you during your work hours! They will have doctor appointments, ballgames, exams and much more.

Besides those logistical interruptions, you have a responsibility to them to be a good, present parent. Make sure you have your priorities firmly in place as you plan your schedule. Also, have your expectations in line and resist the urge to compare your own success against others in your same industry. As long as you have your priorities in order, you will be happy with all of your success, and you will have the added bonus of being a great role model for your kids.

The life of an entrepreneur can be messy. Often, that is part of the appeal! It may never be the same two days in a row. Setting appropriate priorities, flexibility and good, consistant planning will keep you sane.

Beefy Marines Strut Their Stuff for Charity
Rudy Reyes, a United States Marine who served two tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan, is proud to be featured on the cover of a calendar that will help other soldiers and their families. “It’s a stopgap effort to help people where government programs leave off,” said Reyes. “This is a way for citizens to help citizens.”

The “2007 America’s Heroes Reconnaissance Marines Calendar” is being sold by Freedom is Not Free, a nonprofit group that helps injured service members and their families with such expenses as travel, mortgage and utility bills and special beds for burn victims. The group, based in San Diego, was founded last year by entrepreneur David Dominguez and one of his clients, Jean Hamerslag, a California advertising executive who suggested that the organization’s fundraising efforts could be boosted by something that would grab the attention of the public.

The Marines featured in the calendar, including Reyes, served in Iraq in Marine reconnaissance units, and two were wounded there. Sgt. James Wright, 31, lost his hands and part of his leg while serving in Iraq. Wright appears in full uniform on the back cover, saluting with the remaining part of his left arm. Several other members of the group said they have a variety of medical conditions that range from combat-stress related symptoms to chronic injuries to knees, hips, feet, and backs from carrying combat loads of more than 200 pounds.

The website for Freedom Is Not Free states: “More than 18,000 service men and women have been injured in the war, and more than 2,600 have given their lives for our freedom. Many of the wounded are young and face an entire lifetime of “healing” and coping with disabilities. Regardless of partisan or political views, our country recognizes the need to aid our service men and women who endure great sacrifice to protect our freedom.”

Dominguez says there is a great need for money to help veterans when they return from tours of duty. “Some Iraq veterans are so depressed when they get back they can’t even fill out the papers required for benefits.” Production expenses for creating the calendars have been covered by private donations to Freedom Is Not Free. The calendar sells for $14.99 and the group promises that “100 percent of proceeds aid wounded heroes and their families.”

Changes to Vocational Qualification Framework · 2010 Calendar In

Read Full Verion Here: Changes to Vocational Qualification Framework · 2010 Calendar In

A new Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) will recognize the achievements of people who complete plumbing courses.

Vocational courses on the QCF are comprised of mandatory and optional units which allow learners on electrical courses to progress step-by-step until they achieve a full qualification. Each unit on the QCF has a credit value that shows how long it takes to complete.

Each credit has a value of ten hours of ‘learning time’ and students can advance at their own pace. The notional learning time is based on how long it would take an average learner to pass a specific unit.

There will be no repeat learning in subjects like tiling courses because all units will be kept on record. This means students can ‘bank’ their new skills and track their learning on a personal centralised online learner record as the course advances.

Each qualification is given a title which details its difficulty level, size and subject content. Those interested in plumbing courses can chose what level they want to learn at. Each qualification ranges from entry level to level 8. Levels 1 and 2 are GSCE standard while level 3 is equivilent to an A level and a PhD is at level 8.

People interested in plastering courses can choose the size and level of a qualification that best suits their needs, providing they meet the entry criteria.

QCF qualifications can include units from different levels depending on the rules of combination and the number of credits a student earns will determine the size of their achievement.

An Award is the smallest type of qualification on the QCF and is worth between one and 12 credits. A Certificate is worth between 13 and 36 credits and a Diploma is worth 37 credits or more.

The QCF is replacing the National Qualifications Framework and will be fully implemented by the end of 2010 in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. People interested in plumbing courses can complete different units across these areas of the UK.

Those wanting to sign up to plumbing courses in Scotland will operate under the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework, which does not use the same system. Both QCF and NQF qualification registrations will co-exist until the end of the year.

Other vocational qualifications such as BTECs and NVQs are being changed into units and moved on to the QCF, although some qualifications will continued to be called NVQs.

City & Guild currently have over 50,000 people studying in one of their 500 QCF accredited qualifications such as plastering courses.

Law of Attraction Manifestation Exercise #18 How to Change the Negative in As Little As 21 Days · 2010 Calendar In

Read Full Verion Here: Law of Attraction Manifestation Exercise #18 How to Change the Negative in As Little As 21 Days · 2010 Calendar In

Did you know that you can change a negative core belief in only 21 days? Even if it is a thought you have had for 30 years?

Or that you can create a new positive habit in as little as 21 days that can last a lifetime?

I have always loved that scientific statistic and it is a great exercise to use when learning how to apply the Law of Attraction.

The great part about it is there are so many different things you can use it for.

The first thing to do is to draw or print out a calendar for the month. I found a free one you can use at freeprintablecalendar.net. I like this particular site because you can also add a personal picture on top that will help inspire you and you do not have to sign up for anything to use the program.

Or if you do not have a printer available you can simply draw up a calendar yourself.

Now decide what is it you want to change or accomplish.

I suggest starting with one thing at a time until the old habit is broken before starting a new one so you do not feel overwhelmed, but if you can handle more than one — go for it! Just make sure you print up a separate calendar for each idea.

So what is the new habit you would like to create? Do you want to start meditating, taking your vitamins, exercising, eating healthier? Do you want to start getting better organized? Start staying on top of your mail, on top of your house cleaning, on top of things at work, on top of your money more?

Whatever new habit you would like to create MUST be done for 21 days in a row. Remember, if you miss a day you have to start over from the beginning. But having the calendar in front of you is what makes it more fun and gives you a feeling of accomplishment.

For everyday you accomplish your task you mark off the date with a big X. If at anytime you feel like slacking off, repeat to yourself “Don’t Break The Chain!”…”Don’t Break The Chain!” Look at your calendar at all those pretty X’s in a row. You don’t want to stop now!

You want to see at least 21 of those x’s in a row. After 21 days your new behavior has now become a new habit and marking off the x’s after that will be just plain fun.

Now what if you want to use it to change an old negative belief?

Use an affirmation! At least 5 times a day for 21 days in a row. Again mark off each day with an “X” when you have done it. Say the affirmation when you first wake up, mid-morning, lunch time, mid-afternoon and before you go to bed. (The time of day doesn’t really matter and if you choose to say it even more often than 5 times even better — Just as long as you do it!)

Here are some examples of affirmations you can use:

If you are feeling negative about money: “Money comes to me effortlessly and easily every day and in every way” or “I am entitled to always have more than enough money simply because I AM”

If you are feeling anxious: “At the core of my being I am always peaceful and calm”

If you are have not been feeling 100% physically: “I am perfect physical health and have never felt better in my life!”

If you want to feel really good overall try this one: “Every day and in every way I am getting better and better!” (This one works really great by the way! It covers everything from health, to work, to exercise, to relationships, to creating new habits. With those simple words you are covering the spectrum!)

Of coarse there are tons of other affirmations you can find on the internet if those don’t feel right to you.

Make sure you keep your calendar somewhere that you can see it. On your refrigerator, bulletin board at work, or even your bedroom wall so you see it every night and every morning.

So give this simple exercise a try! We all know how fast 21 days goes, especially if you are trying to break a bad habit or get rid of a negative thought you have had for years! 21 days is merely a drop in the bucket.

Happy Creating!

When it comes to the wide choice of sports in this particular event, each candidate city looking to host a Commonwealth Games is supposed to include a minimum of 10 core sports on their programme.

History

During the first Commonwealth Games in Hamilton in 1930, there were only six sports in the entire programme: Athletics, Aquatics (Swimming & Diving), Boxing, Lawn Bowls, Rowing, and Wrestling. Later the Commonwealth Games Federation Sports Committee proposed a few outlines and factors to be included in the programme, which were included in the regulation 6 of the CGF Constitution.

Overview

As per the guidelines, the host country can include up to an additional 7 games from a list of optional sports, with a maximum of 4 team sports on their programme. They can choose these games from a huge list that includes: Billiards/Snooker, Canoeing, Golf, Handball, Life Saving, Softball, Yachting / Sailing and Volleyball.

Surprisingly, Cricket – the highest acclaimed sport in the world – was included once in Kuala Lumpur in 1998 Commonwealth Games, but is still an unrecognized sport in the list of CGF.

On the other hand, Commonwealth Youth Games are permitted to include a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 8 sports. Out of these, maximum 2 can be team sports. Athletics and Swimming are mandatory in the list.

Games Scheduled For Commonwealth 2010

2010 Commonwealth Games, going to be held in Delhi, will have a total of 17 games. These are:

• Aquatics (Diving & Swimming)

• Archery (first appeared in Brisbane 1982)

• Athletics (featured in every Commonwealth Game till now)

• Badminton (made its debut in Kingston 1966)

• Boxing (Featured from Hamilton 1930 to Melbourne 2006)

• Cycling (first included in London 1934)

• Gymnastics (first included in Edmonton 1978)

• Hockey (introduced in Kuala Lumpur 1998)

• Lawn Bowls (included on every programme except Kingston 1966)

• Net Ball (introduced in Kuala Lumpur 1998)

• Rugby 7’s (team sport introduced in Kuala Lumpur 1998)

• Shooting (made its first appearance in Kingston 1966)

• Squash (made its debut in Kuala Lumpur 1998)

• Table Tennis (first appeared in Manchester 2002)

• Tennis (will make its debut in Delhi 2010)

• Weightlifting (core sport for men and women since Auckland 1950)

• Wrestling (featured in Hamilton 1930)

Apart from the above mentioned sports, the list of CGF includes games like Rowing, Judo, Fencing, Basketball, Ten Pin Bowling, Triathlon, Waterpolo etc. But these are not included in 2010 list.

Fun Facts about Leap Year · 2010 Calendar In

Read Full Verion Here: Fun Facts about Leap Year · 2010 Calendar In

By Anastacia Mott Austin

“I’m going to be 14 for the second time,” said New Hampshire’s Lori Mayer as she boarded a plane for Texas and the World Wide Leap Year Festival. Mayer (who’s actually 56) has a birthday on February 29th – Leap Day. “I remember getting teased, ‘Ha, ha, you don’t have a birthday,’” said Mayer to local reporters. “But now it’s a real treat.”

Mayer faced the same odds of being born on this strange and rare day as anyone else – about one in 1500. People born on this day often have a sense of humor about it, and most don’t mind only getting a real birthday once every four years.

Jim Ciampa says he’s used his unique birthday for jokes and pick-up lines. “I used to tell the girls in college I would never make it to my 25th birthday,” he quips. (I wonder how well that worked for him.) Since his actual age is 68, he is still not officially 25.

The fun is obvious to those who were born on this day, but what about the rest of us? What does it mean to have an “extra” day? For the optimists among us, it’s one more day to celebrate life. For those whose glasses are regrettably only half-full, it’s another day to face the drudgery of work – and a free one at that, if your salary is annual.

The leap year phenomenon was created in 46 B.C, and later amended, when Julius Caesar realized that the number of days in a year did not exactly coincide with how long it actually took the earth to rotate around the sun.

Caesar amended the calendar and added an extra day to February, and the first year the new calendar was used lasted fifteen months, to make up for the discrepancy.

But he didn’t have it quite right. With a 365-day year, there are not quite six hours left over: five hours, 48 minutes and 46 seconds. The Julian calendar was slightly overcompensating, so the seasons began to get out of sync with the calendar again.

By the time Pope Gregory XIII came along in 1582 and changed the calendar again (hence the term, “Gregorian calendar”), the Julian calendar was off by ten days.

Gregory added the stipulation that leap year would only be observed in years ending in “00″ (i.e. 1800, 1900, 2000) if they could be divided by 400. This allowed a slight enough compensation to balance out the minutes shorted by each extra leap year day.

However, folks back in 1582 did not appreciate being robbed of 10 days of their lives – the calendar that year went from October 4th directly to October 15th – and protested in the streets, believing their lives would then be shorter.

In the times since, people have taken advantage of the leap day’s reputation for strangeness, and developed a few superstitions and traditions around the day.

It is said that on February 29th, ladies may propose marriage to any single gentleman, and he will be cursed with bad luck should he turn her down.

“This custom reflects the fact that February 29 is strange and odd,” says Steve Sayers, a social psychologist at Britain’s Leeds Metropolitan University, to reporters. “It’s an anomaly and doesn’t fit in, so traditions and customs have built up to reflect that. Leap day is a bit like Halloween or Christmas: the usual rules don’t apply.”

But while marriage proposals are encouraged on leap day, marriages are not. In fact, in Greece it is considered bad luck to marry on any day of a leap year – a bad omen indeed for those in the wedding industry.

But for Jim Ciampa, it’s only been fun and games to have his birthday on February 29th, and he never misses a chance to joke about it. “I have a lawsuit against the government because they had me in combat at 6-1/2 years old,” laughs Ciampa.

Adds the jovial 68-year-old grandfather, “I have one great-granddaughter who is older than I am.”

There are four Major tennis championships, also referred to as Slam championships: the Australian Open, French Open, US Open and Wimbledon. Grand Slam is victory in all four tournaments gained by a player or a doubles team in the same year. A Non-Calendar Year Grand Slam is four consecutive wins, but not in the same year; a Career Grand Slam is winning all four at some point of a player’s career.

Wimbledon is the oldest of tennis competitions and, without doubt, the most prestigious one. It first took place in 1877 with only twenty-two players; it was won by Spencer Gore in straight sets over W. C. Marshall. Held every June and July at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London, Wimbledon competition is often attended by royalty and celebrities who got official invitation from the Chairman of the Club.

The first American tennis tournament, known as U.S. National Championship, was held at the Newport Casino, Rhode Island, in 1881. And in 1887 the first official U.S. Women’s National Singles Championship took place at the Philadelphia Cricket Club. But the Open Era started in 1968 when five different competitions were consolidated into one US Open Championships, held at the West Side Tennis Club in Queens. The prize money equaled $100,000 and was shared appropriately between the 96 men and 63 women who entered. This is the fourth and final event of the Grand Slam tennis tournaments, held annually in August and September over a two week period.

The first French tennis tournament was held in Paris in 1891 as a one-day national championship with very poor attendance. Only French players and players from French clubs were allowed to take part in the tournament. In 1968, the Open era started when professionals from all over the world were allowed to participate. In 1925 French Tennis Federation opened the championship for international players. In 1927 the area of three hectares near Porte d’Auteuil was allocated for a new stadium named Roland Garros, where French Open takes place nowadays.
